Guess the ladder — every neighbour pair makes a compound (snow·ball·park·bench…).
The top and bottom words are given; each hidden word starts with just its first letter. Every slot is the same width, so the number of tiles won't tell you the word's length. Spell the word that forms a compound with its neighbour (e.g. between snow and park is ball → snowball, ballpark). A wrong guess reveals another letter — but you only get a few mistakes before you're out!
